The alarm can be silenced with a standard IR remote control, meaning you don’t have to climb a ladder to silence it. The ability to quickly silence the alarm in this way means you don’t have to worry about waking up the whole house, or disturbing the neighbours if there is a false alarm.
But this smoke detector also works to reduce the number of false alarms you experience in the first place, as it utilises its additional Blue Light LED to filter out false alarms from things like steam.
