1/2
& 1/3" Lenses
Fixed and Manual Iris lenses are among the simplest
lenses available because of the total absence of moving parts or limited
adjustment. This makes this type of lens very cost effective but only
suitable for use where light conditions are stable, usually an indoor
application.
Choice of viewing angles
As fixed and manual lenses are not designed for
changing light conditions they have to be carefully sited and matched
to get the desired view. The range consist of one popular fixed iris lens
and 4 manual iris lens to offer you the perfect viewing angle.
Manual Iris Versions
Suitable for indoor use where light levels are not constantly changing.
Direct Drive Versions
Camera circuitry controls the iris aperture making
this type of lens suitable for outdoor use where light levels fluctuate.
Auto Iris Versions
Iris control taken care of on the lens itself,
for use on cameras without Direct Drive control in internal or external
applications.
Standard Zoom Lenses
These lenses rely on technology within the camera
to adjust the iris of the lens making for a more cost effective unit.
However, the camera used must support this feature.
In 1997 the House of Lords Select Committee on
Science & Technology conducted an investigation into the increasing
use of digital imaging and the issues surrounding the suitability of digital
images for use as evidence. A report of their findings was published in
February 1998. The study investigated image quality, image tampering,
storage and reproduction amongst many other important issues. A brief
outline of the topics covered in the report is given at this Government
web site. http://www.crimereduction.gov.uk/cctv27.htm
